With cats, it’s always “our food.”

Cats don't actually want your food, they just want to annoy you by blocking you from eating lmaoo

"This is mine, now."

I caught my cat nibbling on a sandwich, ice cream, chicken, milk in cereal bowl. She hasn't done it lately, and usually waits until I finish putting her food in the bowl.

cats also follow, 'monkey see, monkey do' ... so if a human eats it, they want to investigate and see if it might be nummy for them too.

also, don't let your cat hop on the furniture like that while you're eating. sure, the Japanese eat sitting on the floor. but he's got a Western table right over there on the other side of the room.

keep snacks to cat-treats, not human food. onions for example, can kill cats (and dogs) if they eat a few too many. onions have a chemical in them that cats and dogs' kidneys can NOT filter out. that chemical builds up in their bodies and poisons them slowly. also, human food can make a cat fat too easily.
